Somatic Breathwork Guide
If you are new to the somatic breathwork experience,
here is a guide to support your journey!
Guided by music and your breath, each session is unique and can become a valuable tool for your own growth and alignment with your highest expression. While this modality does take some effort, it is a safe, supportive, and interesting way to deepen into yourself.
Breathwork is a safe practice, and you have control of the pace in which you practice. If any feelings come on too strong in the body or the mind, please take your breath back to your regular nasal breathing.
In addition, there are some contraindications to consider. If you have recently experienced or are actively experiencing any of these, please consult your healthcare provider before you participate in this work. You can also contact me with any questions.
-Severe cardiovascular disease, including angina or heart attack;
-High blood pressure, glaucoma, retinal detachment;
-Osteoporosis, significant recent physical injuries or surgery;
-Severe mental illness, bipolar disorder or psychosis;
-Seizure disorders, personal or family history of aneurysms;
-Persons using major medications,
or under the influence of legal or illegal substances to the extent that their capacity is impaired.
-Pregnant women are advised against this active breathing technique, but you can join with nasal breathing.
-Persons with asthma or respiratory conditions should have their inhaler nearby and consult with their physician as necessary.
Disclaimer: If you engage in this practice, you agree that you do so at your own risk, are voluntarily participating in this practice, assume all risk of injury to yourself, and agree to release and discharge Christina Sudduth (dba Path To Integration) from any and all claims or causes of action, known or unknown, arising.
How To Prepare:
1) Come with an intention. Is there something you want to learn or discover? Is there something you want to let go or heal? Writing down a powerful intention is the start of a great session. Having a journal and pen nearby after session is also a great way to remember the insights that may come through during your breathwork experience.
2) Prepare your body. Try not to eat a big meal more than 45 minutes before class, and please refrain from any alcohol, caffeine or other stimulants, as well.
3) Go at your own pace. Breathing hard and fast is not necessarily better or deeper. Start slow, and get to know your breath and your body. As you get comfortable, you can lean into your edge and pick up the pace.
4) Set up your space. To get the most out of this session, you will want a space and time that is uninterrupted and where you feel comfortable to make noise as you breathe through your mouth. You may also stir up emotion during this session - tears, laughter, frustration, etc. - that may be released through sound.
Have a scarf or eye mask to cover your eyes. Choose a place that is comfortable for you to lay flat. You can be on your bed or floor. You may want a blanket to feel comfortable. Do not have a big pillow under your neck if it's constricting your airflow in any way, but you may want something on which to rest your head.
If you need to, consider informing anyone in your space that they may hear you breathing loud, and you may laugh, cry, or yell as you release energy and emotion. Maybe have a pillow or towel close by that you can yell into to muffle the sound if that feels more comfortable.
5) Sound/music. If you are joining a virtual session, I will be playing music through the shared audio during the Zoom call so make any arrangements you need to be able to hear and play music.
With care,
~ Christina
The Path To Integration is for those who know that there is more
within that wants to come out and thrive!

Welcome! I am Christina Sudduth, and I am so glad that you are here! I teach practices that allow you to connect more deeply to your UNIQUE essence - the wholeness that exists within your body right now and is READY to be amplified in the world.
For the last 10 years, I have been managing public health programs, and through my own experience, I saw that one of the biggest barriers to our happiness, vitality and health is living a life that is unaligned or disintegrated - a life where we aren't living our fullest expression. Out of my own embodiment of this work and various trainings, my path into coaching has emerged. In particular, I am a certified Revelation Breathwork facilitator and Positive Intelligence Coach.
I am here, continuing to grow right along with you, and I believe that with each person that steps into their authentic power and light, this world becomes a better place!!
